Plant Life
The plant life in the Sahara desert is adapted to live in hot dry areas by using both physical and behavioral mechanisms. Some of the plant life known as Xerophytes have adapted to not having very much water by being able to store water inside itself for long periods of time. They often have few or no leaves to reduce use of this water. Phraetophytes are a type of plant that has adapted by growing very long roots that extend deep within the earth to get as much water as they can.
